PAT Testing DJ Equipment

City & Guilds Qualified Engineer

The City and Guilds qualified DJ will come to you to PAT Test your DJ Equipment. This means that he has been on a City and Guilds Pat Testing course and has passed all the relevant exams required by law to test portable electrical equipment.

A DJ Who Knows Your Equipment

The engineer that will come to PAT Test your DJ equipment is a full time professional DJ. This will give you peace of mind in the knowledge that the person testing your DJ equipment knows what it does and how it works.

PAT Test Certificates

Every time you get your DJ equipment tested with Safer Sounds you will get a certificate to show any potential client who requires proof of testing. This certificate will emailed to you as a PDF within 1 week after your Pat Test.

Detailed Pass or Fail Inventory

Along with your Pat Test Certificate, will be an inventory of all your DJ equipment that was tested. This will include all the test results so that each item may be monitored.

Out Of Hours Pat Testing

I know that a lot of you have jobs to go to during the week and this can make things difficult when it comes to having your DJ Equipment Pat tested. As a result, I am able to offer Pat testing out of normal working hours. I can come to test your equipment most weekday evenings and on Sundays. As you may appreciate, Fridays and Saturdays may not always be possible.

Competitive Prices

Being a DJ I know how much everything can cost when you are trying to make a living. Here at Safer Sounds I can offer my fellow DJ’s a very competitive price. My prices start from £70 for up to 50 items then £1 per item after that. Many companies have one fee for that and another fee for this. I like to just keep things simple.

PAT Testing DJ Equipment In London, Surrey, Sussex & Kent

Why PAT Test DJ Equipment?

That’s a great question. Why should you?

In a nutshell, more and more venues are now asking for proof of PAT tests. Only a few weeks ago I arrived at a venue to find someone from their office hovering around me trying to look at PAT labels on my gear! He did eventually ask if he could have a snoop around my DJ equipment to check all was well!

I know that increasing numbers of artists, DJ’s and Bands are being turned away from venues because they did not have PAT Tested equipment. What happens then? The bride and groom, corporate events manager or co-ordinator is now left without their evening entertainment!

There is a more serious note to just letting people down. PAT tests are there to make sure you work in a safe environment and your audiences can party safely.

The Legislation

Electrical equipment is required to be properly maintained so as to prevent danger. Inspections and tests are necessary.

The legislation relevant to electrical maintenance is:

  • Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
  • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
  • Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
  • Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
  • Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

This act puts a duty of care upon both the employer and employee to ensure the safety of all persons using the work premises. This includes self-employed.

The Electricity at Work Regulations require that:

As may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger.
